Paakuma’ Tawinat, also known by his stage names Short Dawg Tha Native, Tha Native, Sam Whiskey, and Sam Whiskey Tha Native, is a Native American artist of Serrano/Cahuilla heritage, from the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation in Highland, California (San Bernardino County).

Multi-talented, he is a traditional singer, hip-hop/rap artist, and vocalist, as well as a dedicated cultural presenter for his tribe. He has shared his knowledge and culture through educational presentations from K–12 to the college/university level.

With over 30 years of experience in music, Paakuma’ has made a name for himself in the industry. He has toured with Tech N9ne and the Kottonmouth Kings, and has graced major stages such as Rock the Bells and Paid Dues. He’s opened for icons like Three 6 Mafia, 2 Chainz, Ice Cube, and more.

Beyond music, he is the owner of Shorty's Garage Classic Cars and Knuckle Scars. A classic car garage, specializing in building and restoring vintage rides.
